3rd party = browser

If the user doesn't connect to a server, there is no login prompt. Set your users to use 'island' as the location and you bypass the login.

I believe you're right, there are no third party 'viewer' apps other than browsers; Notes is an all inclusive environment and replicating the feature set with a 3rd party app would result in a clone of the client or web browser. I guess you could create an app that used something like ODBC to read local data sources but setting up that environment would be more complex than just using a standard login.

If the client connects to a server, then no matter how you connect, you need to login (other than a web site with anonymous allowed).

Are you saying you have a user population that runs only local dbs? How do they get the apps and updates to the designs? Are they giving up the entire collaboration aspect of Notes/Domino? Just curious what kind of setup you have.
